OPTIMAI is a European research project, funded by Horizon 2020, in smart manufacturing. OPTIMAI aims to develop Artificial Intelligent and Augmented Reality technologies capable of reducing scrap and defects, enhancing workers performance and satisfaction, maximize the productivity and improve the quality of shop-floor processes.

ACTA led the quality inspection procedures though developing AI tools for smart quality control. The developed tools consist of anomaly and defect detection methods based on state-of-the-art algorithms that exploit different data types for real-time production monitoring. ACTA main contributions also involve a comprehensive state-of-the-art analysis of smart manufacturing, augmented reality and zero-defect manufacturing technologies.
